What is MTPA
The MOT Training Providers Association (MTPA) is a members-only organisation established to represent MOT training providers across the UK. Our purpose is to support alignment between the training sector and DVSA standards by facilitating industry-wide dialogue and information exchange.
Our Role
Through MTPA, member organisations benefit from structured opportunities for discussion, feedback, and collective representation — strengthening the link between training providers and the regulatory framework set by DVSA.
How MTPA Began
The concept for MTPA emerged in 2025 after an initial discussion between a member of the training community and a representative from DVSA about challenges relating to the MOT Tester Curriculum. Recognising the need for a collective voice among training providers, MTPA was formed shortly afterward. Initial meetings with DVSA proposed for late 2025 to begin open dialogue on training standards, industry concerns and assist in refinement of annual training curriculum content — reflecting an intention to engage, not implying formal partnership or endorsement by DVSA.
